LeaseSurance relaunches its platform on a rebuilt risk and claims engine

Five months of engineering with Octoco replaced spreadsheet imports with real-time API integration and an automated claims portal, setting up LeaseSurance's no-deposit rental model to scale.

LeaseSurance replaces the cash rental deposit with insurance: tenants pay a small monthly fee, landlords keep their cover for rent loss and damages, and a data-driven risk engine prices each lease.

Between March and August 2024 the LeaseSurance and Octoco teams rebuilt the platform behind that model. Error-prone spreadsheet imports gave way to real-time API integration with property managers, an automated claims portal took over lease management and claims, and role-based access controls opened the platform safely to partners. The result is faster onboarding of new property portfolios and risk profiling that runs on live data.

The quality and capability of our product is now at a whole new level.

Paul Schaefer, founder of LeaseSurance.
