01 · What changes
Tenant
A small fee is added to the monthly rent statement. There is no separate application, no extra credit check and nothing to save up for.
Landlord
Insurance-backed protection set at a multiple of monthly rent, for arrears, damage, evictions and tenants who skip. Claims are paid by a licensed administrator in 7 to 14 business days, and the cover holds even if a tenant stops paying the fee.
Property manager
Billing, claims and recoveries run inside the property management systems the team already uses, including MRI, PayProp and WeconnectU.
02 · Fit
LeaseSurance sells to institutional landlords and property managers in South Africa, not to individual landlords. Policies are underwritten by Guardrisk in a ring-fenced cell captive, so one portfolio never carries another's losses.
Assess the portfolio's risk and set the cover level.
Connect the property management system. A charge code takes care of billing.
New tenants opt in when they sign. Existing leases are left alone.
Claims at move-out are filed online and paid by a licensed administrator.
